Having worked in SaaS for the past 15 years I understand the operational and financial issues many growing SaaS businesses face such as the ones noted below. Do any of these challenges below resonate with you?

  • The need for clear numbers to understand the true financial situation of your business but your current reporting doesn't fill you with sufficient trust or is structured in a way that doesn't meet SaaS reporting. Often this is because your accounting firm has a one size fits all P&L template that may meet most clients but doesn't quite meet your requirements or give you the real information you need at your fingertips.

  • Full and complete clarity over your cashflow forecasting - after all cash is king! At present you're not completely sure about your capacity to expand or if you need to tighten controls a bit. How much cash runway do you really have and how much financing do you need before you become cash flow positive on an ongoing basis?
  • Your business needs a deeper understanding of the underlying SaaS metrics that will help forecast future plans. You may understand the basics of concepts like Net Revenue Retention, CAC Payback Ratios, Revenue per Employee, the Rule of 40 or Burn Multiples but do you now how to put these together to form a clear story to investors or understand how you compare to your competitors.

  • Your business needs to raise some additional financing and you need a CFO in your corner to give credibility to the business plan and the projections you want to present. You have investors who are asking pertinent financial questions and you need some backup to be able to answer these with confidence.

However whilst you may have some or all of the challenges above, the business doesn't need, nor can afford, a full time CFO. That's where I come in.

For a fixed monthly fee I'll work alongside you as a member of your team as your Fractional CFO and strategic advisor to help you in all aspects of your finance operations and provide you with the reporting and clarity that you need. I also offer unlimited e-mail support and guarantee to reply to 90% of e-mails within 90 minutes (what I call my '90 within 90' pledge).
